2017 New Zealand Society for Oncology Annual Meeting
The annual scientific meeting of the New Zealand Society for Oncology (NZSO) is New Zealand’s premier congress covering the latest advances in translational cancer research and spanning all types of cancer.
The NZSO annual meeting features world-leading international guests, invited presentations from local leaders in cancer research and proffered abstracts from New Zealand’s medical research institutions and cancer treatment centres.
Plenary session themes for the 2017 NZSO meeting include the tumour microenvironment in progression and therapy, early-phase clinical trials, molecular pathology and diagnostics, translational radiation oncology, the genetic basis of cancer, drug discovery and novel approaches to therapy, the Bruce Cain Memorial Lecture, PHARMAC Young Researcher Awards and clinical and scientific poster discussions. Satellite symposia at this year’s meeting will explore the management of brain metastases in the era of immune checkpoint blockade, plus the establishment of a New Zealand young oncology network.
Our exhibit hall and café space provides a relaxed environment to network with fellow clinicians and researchers, meet our international guests and engage with consumer groups and industry counterparts.
The meeting will also feature the announcement of a number of prestigious awards, including the Bruce Cain Memorial Lectureship, the NZSO Translational Research Award, the Roche Translational Cancer Fellowship and the PHARMAC Young Researcher Awards.
